The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Aorus 8G has a base clock of 1.607 MHz. With GPU-Boost 3.0 it can be increased to a boost clock of 1.797 MHz. Using the XTREME software, the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Aorus 8G can switch to "OC" mode. The OC mode increases the base clock to 1,632 MHz and the boost clock to 1,835 MHz. The memory clock is at 4.004 MHz (effective 8.008 MHz).

Cooling the graphics card is based on the semi-passive WindForce 3X cooler design from the manufacturer Gigabyte, which consists of two heatpipes, two large-area cooling blocks made of aluminum fins and three 100 mm fans. The special "triangle fan-edge design" of the fan blades has a up to 23 percent better airflow than conventional fans. The Windforce-3X-Cooler features a RGB-LED illuminated lettering and a backplate for increased PCB stability.

The 8 GB video memory of the GeForce GTX 1070 is connected to the GPU via a 256-bit memory interface. The GP104 graphics chip of the GTX 1070 has 1,920 CUDA cores and the computing power of the GTX 1070 is 6.5 TFLOPS. As a result, the GeForce GTX 1070 is slightly superior to the GeForce GTX Titan X, the flagship of the Maxwell GPU series!

The GTX-1070 graphics card family supports DirectX 12 and current gaming technologies, including NVIDIA GameWorks, Warp, Stereo-X, VR-Audio, PhysX and SMP (Simultaneous Multi-Projection). The latter is supported in version 4.0 and offers great advantages, especially for VR, curved displays and multi-display setups.

Particularly when gambling in the Virtual Reality (VR), gamers profit from the new technology. With SMP 4.0, a total of 16 viewports and two viewports can be rendered in one run. By using multiple viewports, the rendered image also comes with a smaller number of calculated pixels, which greatly improves VR performance.

The GeForce GTX 1070 is capable of transmitting 4K / Ultra HD resolutions at 60 Hertz over three DisplayPort-1.4 and an HDMI 2.0b connection, the latter having HDCP 2.2, which allows it to send and receive encrypted signals ( 4K Blu-Rays / 4K streams). Alternatively, the GTX 1070 has a DVI-D (dual-link) output.

In order to exploit the full potential of the card in the future, new drivers of NVIDIA or Gigabyte should be downloaded and installed at regular intervals.
