Details

The 11GB GDDR5X video memory of the graphics card clock with enormous 5,500 MHz (effectively 11,000 MHz) and for the power supply of the 27 cm long graphics card two 8-pin PCIe connections are needed. The power supply should supply at least 600 watts.

Three revised axial fans with "Optimized Swept Fan Blades", double ball bearings and low-power motors are used to efficiently cool the graphics card, which in combination with the iCX technology ensure outstanding temperature control and reduced noise.

To keep the heat of the graphics card under control, EVGA has come up with something. A total of nine temperature sensors were distributed on the FTW3, which means that the user can always monitor the temperature values of the GPU (1 sensor), the storage modules (3 sensors) and the voltage transducer (5 sensors). The values can be read directly in the PrecisionX OC software or can be recognized by means of the LED color of the thermal display, under the EVGA lettering on the graphics card.

In combination with the asynchronous fans, the various areas of the graphics card can be cooled depending on the requirements. The airflow is passed through the aluminum heat sink, which now has an improved contact area through many holes in the fin. This results in a much more efficient cooling with simultaneously reduced noise. The base and backplate of the FTW3 have also been reworked, because the optimized design and direct contact with the most important components can maximize the heat distribution of the graphics card.

Another special feature of the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 Gaming iCX is the stylish RGB lighting, which can be separately configured for the lettering, the heat sink and the temperature display. With the PrecisionX OC software, the graphics card can be illuminated in any color and adapted to the style of the rest of the system. Three different temperature states can be configured for the LEDs of the temperature display so that the temperature level of the GPU, the voltage transformers and the memory modules can be read very easily.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card is based on the GP102 graphics chip with Pascal architecture and is the gaming flagship of the GeForce GTX 10 series. The GTX 1080 Ti is predestined for playing in 4K / UHD resolution and a very good platform for experiencing the virtual reality - a VR-glasses with huge 11 GB of video memory, enormous 3,584 computation cores (CUDA cores) and high GPU clock rates As the HTC Vive provided.

The production of the graphics chips in the 16-nm-FinFET-method makes it possible to accommodate sensational 12 billion transistors on the 471 mm² GP102 chip. The 16-nm process also adds a low power consumption of 250 watts TDP to the graphics card in combination with the Pascal architecture. This low TDP makes it possible, with a corresponding cooler design, to increase the chip clock over longer periods in the boost.

The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card is equipped with gigantic 11 GB GDDR5X video memory, which are connected to the chipset via a 384-bit memory interface. GDDR5X-VRAM has a 50 percent increase in bandwidth as a GDDR5-VRAM, resulting in a memory bandwidth of 484 GB / s in combination with the high memory clock rate.

Supported features of the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti include DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.5, Vulkan, 3D Vision, NVIDIA Surround, Tessellation, PhysX, Ansel, CUDA, NVENC, SMX, GPU Boost 2.0, Adaptive Vertical Sync, SLI, Sync, VXGI, Super Resolution, 4K Ultra HD Support, 4K Surround, NVIDIA ShadowPlay, NVIDIA GameStream, HDCP and Simultaneous Multi-Projection 4.0.

Virtual Reality and 4K gaming with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP) version 4.0 allows the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti to save geometry performance during rendering by deriving multiple views from a single geometry calculation. The Pascal architecture supports up to 16 of these simultaneous viewports. SMP is especially interesting for Virtual Reality (VR) and can dramatically improve the performance of the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti when compared to its predecessors.

A component of SMP 4.0 is the so-called lens-matched-shading (LMS), which optimizes the image computation by not calculating image contents, which are blurred by the lenses in the VR glasses. The curved lenses lie between the eye and the display, so that a correct adjustment of the image has to be made.

Asynchronous Compute is the simultaneous execution of rendering and compute commands and is particularly interesting in combination with APIs such as DirectX 12 or Vulkan. Here, more efficient and thus faster communication between the CPU and the GPU takes place. With Pascal, the GTX 1080 Ti is able to cancel and save calculations ("Pre Emption").

Asynchronous Timewarp and Interleaved Reprojection technique are methods used by VR glasses to prevent the Framerate from dropping below 90 hertz. With Asynchronous Compute, the GP102 graphics chip can better prioritize these two VR technologies that are important to VR and guarantee an incredible VR experience!

In order to make full use of the card's full potential, new drivers from NVIDIA or the manufacturer should be downloaded and installed at regular intervals.
Graphics card exchange without waiting for caseking!

During the warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase, Caseking will be exchanged directly by the customer for defective graphics cards - ie those with a defect confirmed by us - of all the brands mentioned below directly against new product (if stocked). A sending of the faulty goods to the manufacturer and associated longer waiting times are thus completely eliminated!
