The features of the DG-84 Big-Towers at a glance:
Stylish industrial design
Optimized airflow
Space for up to 2x 420 mm radiator
Front HDMI for connecting VR glasses
Two I / O Panels in Front & Top
EVGA K-Boost button
Decent hidden cables & innovative installation possibilities
The asymmetrical design of this Big-Tower already suggests that EVGA is taking a new approach in the placement options of the DG-84, and the directional adverbs used by us refer to these intended setups. The left side with the EVGA lettering on the side panel is visible from the front of the tower and is housed as a front panel and accommodates the control display as well as one of the two I / O panels.
The rear panel is flush against the wall and the mainboard tray is aligned so that the PCI screens are located on the left side of the gaming case. For quick and easy access to the hardware, both sides can be opened. Of course, the DG-84 can also be set up as a conventional tower, for which a second I / O panel is located on the right-hand side.
EVGA DG-84: Big-Tower for gamers
The I / O shield of the mainboard is inside the tower and is cleverly hidden by the left side flap (or the rear flap with a classic tower installation). All cables for input devices and screens are guided discreetly outwards by a rubber cable leadthrough at this side.
Optimized for custom water cooling: EVGAs DG-84 Big-Tower
Potential gaming hardware is best to cool with water. The DG-84 therefore supports the installation of a custom water cooling system or an AiO water cooling system. Radiators up to 420 mm in length can be installed in the lid and the right side to control gaming systems with up to four water-cooled graphics cards and the processor.
To the right of the mainboard tray is a removable holder for expansion tanks (GTCs) and pumps. Alternatively, the drive cages can be removed from the floor next to the power supply to create space for GTCs and pumps. Further radiators can be attached to the flap in the left side, but no hardtubes can be used.
EVGA DG-84: Discreet Big Tower with HDMI connector for VR glasses
A great feature of the DG-84 is the fact that the backpanel of the mainboard is in the case and hidden by the flap on the left side. At the rear is a rubberized opening to guide the cables to the outside. An internally routed HDMI cable connects the HDMI connector in the front to the HDMI output of the graphics card. This feature makes the DG-84 particularly attractive for connecting VR glasses.
There are also several rubberized openings for premium cable management on the mainboard tray. Behind the mainboard tray, four 2.5-inch SSDs and two 3.5-inch HDDs can be attached. The two optional hard disk cages, not supplied, would each accommodate three 2.5 or 3.5 inch data carriers.
Big tower with double I / O panel: the DG-84 from EVGA
The DG-84 has two I / O panels. The cover has a power, reset and K-boost button as well as two USB 2.0 ports. The front is equipped with a generous assortment of connections, since, in addition to two USB 3.0 ports, there is the aforementioned HDMI connection. In addition, the front has a Power, Reset and K-Boost button as well as two audio ports. The EVGA "K-Boost" button sets the power management of Windows to maximum to set CPU and GPU to the highest possible performance.
