Details

This is a backplate for the ASUS GTX 780 DirectCU II with 3 GB video memory in the reference design. The back plate is available only in conjunction with a matching cooler from EK Water Blocks and is screwed onto the back of the pixel accelerator. Since this is usually turned upward and thus well seen in the case, a visual upgrade can be very useful here .

In addition to the visual enhancement of the black anodized aluminum backplate also provides greater stability. It is effectively prevented that the resulting single-sided PCB bends when the tightening of the screws fastening the main radiator , and thereby is exposed to continuous stresses. In addition, the aluminum helps to increased passive cooling of the graphics card back.

The back plate is not compatible with the ASUS GTX 780 DirectCU II cooler original , will not flow through water , is not intended primarily as a heat sink and can not be used separately . However, it is fully usable with the EK- FC780 GTX DCII ( CSQ ) coolers from EK Water Blocks . The necessary screws are included. These are longer than the original screws , as they are bolted through the back plate and the PCB with the main radiator .
