Incentive and also self-complaint with BitFenix Shogun, it was quite obvious to design a full-fledged housing, which integrates perfectly into its environment as a multimedia center or gaming PC. With a black BitFenix Shogun on the lowboard - or next to the desk - every tastefully decorated room becomes even more elegant, even more elegant, even more distinctive. The designers have achieved this mainly through the two side panels, each of which is made of one piece of hardglass and whose surface is strongly darkened. In combination with the rounded aluminum top and bottom panel in black, this results in an impressive overall picture that is unrivaled in this price class.

The side parts, which can be removed without the use of tools, allow for an overview of the internal hardware installed, especially when an LED lighting is used. Suitably, BitFenix is based on an ASUS Aura certified RGB LED controller, which can present the SSDs in the two Chroma slots in an appropriate manner. The illuminated SSD bracket gives the user the possibility to illuminate the SSDs in any color and to adapt them to the rest of the system color. A truly unique feature, which has not yet existed in this form. A button on the I / O panel can also be used to switch off the lighting, but who wants it?
Air or water cooling in BitFenix Shogun

An active airflow is provided by a pre-installed 120 mm fan at the rear and two 120 mm fans at the front, which can either be replaced by 140 mm models or supplemented by additional fans in the lid. The Shogun's capacity of up to five fans would create an excellent airflow that would cool down even very potent gaming hardware.

Thanks to the relatively large size of the Midi tower, effective water cooling can also be used. The lid takes up a radiator up to a maximum of 360 millimeters, while the front panel offers a maximum of 280 millimeter radiators. Even at the back is space for a 140-millimeter radiator.
Good design and plenty of space for gaming hardware

The interior of the BitFenix Shogun, which weighs just under 14 kg, proves to be pleasantly spacious, because, besides the main board in the form factor E-ATX, ATX or Mini-ITX, powerful power supplies (up to 250 mm), pixelboliden up to 41 cm length as well CPU coolers up to 17.5 cm height can be accommodated.

The modular hard disk cages provide space for a maximum of six 3.5-inch data carriers, which can be exchanged for 2.5-inch data media if required. Two additional 2.5-inch slots are behind the left disc at the lower end of the Shogun case and are impressively staged by the LED lighting. As if that were not enough, there are also two 2.5-inch slots on the back of the mainboard tray, where there is enough space (25 mm) for useful cable management.

The usability BitFenix has in the Shogun overall very high, the dust filters hold magnetically and can be easily removed, the sides are as tool-less removable as the thumbscrews of the seven PCI slots. In addition, the Shogun is equipped with mainboard spacers and has a large cutout in the tray for uncomplicated cooler change. The I / O panel in the front of the cover has two USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, HD audio connectors and a Power & Reset button.
