Worlds separates such an automotive work from a VW Golf, where in addition to the emotionality of the performance come from another world. Although the Aquaero belongs to the circle of slippery dials, it plays functionally several classes above it.
Since the manufacturer Aqua Computer is a specialist in the field of water cooling, the control has not been limited exclusively to the field of air cooling. Rather, it is a highly intelligent hybrid controller, which is equally suitable for air and water cooled systems. Aqua Computer also explains this double orientation in the name: Aquaero is made up of aqua (water) and aero (air).
The Aquaero is also a product that has matured over many years and has been permanently functionally expanded. With Version 5, the controller now achieves a state of development that makes the Aquaero without exaggeration the best fan and water control ever. The range of functions is simply incredible and will satisfy even the most meticulous control freaks completely.
The Aquaero 5 is available in three different levels, which are not functionally different. The differentiation is rather based on the controls, which are correspondingly larger and more comfortable to the larger models.
This is the small Aquaero 5 LT. This is installed internally in the housing in contrast to the larger brothers and consists practically only of a circuit board. The extreme functionality therefore surprises all the more, whereby the control takes place exclusively over the Aquasuit software.
The core of the functionality - the fan and water cooling control - was drilled significantly compared to the revision 4. First, four fans can be connected directly. Each channel can now be loaded up to 1.65 amps. In addition to three 3-pin, a 4-pin PWM connector (alternatively for 3-pin usable) is available, so that corresponding fans can be controlled. With the additionally available Poweradjust 2, six additional fans can be connected.
In addition, eight temperature sensors can be connected. However, this is far from over, because among other things via Aquabus and two other PWM connections, many other devices can be connected and controlled. The sophistication of the system is particularly evident when looking at the new Aquasuite software, because all of the connected components are networked and can be regulated in relation to each other.
Especially for water cooling is very interesting to control the connected fan on the radiator depending on the measured water temperature. Even complex curves to increase the speed can be programmed with increasing water temperature. Various profiles for different areas of application (eg: OC, gaming, office, video) and even event logs allow many variations.
This makes the Aquaero control not only extremely practical and takes care of a permanent fine adjustment, but also prepares a lot of fun while fiddling and extending the control bandwidth.
Note: Cooling the Aquaero 5 LT with a passive cooler (WAZU-209) is recommended in insufficiently ventilated housings.Technical details:
