The ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Expedition O8G has a basestact of 1.582 MHz. With GPU-Boost 3.0 it can be raised to a boost clock of 1.771 MHz. The memory clock is at 4.004 MHz (effectively 8.008 MHz) MHz. For the cooling of the graphics card a dual fan cooling design with black-red cooler cover is used. As the name suggests, this graphics card is particularly well suited for continuous operation and therefore has a 2x longer lifetime.

The 8 GB video memory of the GeForce GTX 1070 is connected to the GPU via a 256-bit memory interface. The GP104 graphics chip of the GTX 1070 has 1,920 CUDA cores and the computing power of the GTX 1070 is 6.5 TFLOPS. As a result, the GeForce GTX 1070 is slightly superior to the GeForce GTX Titan X, the flagship of the Maxwell GPU series!

The GTX-1070 graphics card family supports DirectX 12 and current gaming technologies, including NVIDIA GameWorks, Warp, Stereo-X, VR-Audio, PhysX and SMP (Simultaneous Multi-Projection). The latter is supported in version 4.0 and offers great advantages especially for VR, curved displays and multi-display setups.

Particularly when gambling in the Virtual Reality (VR), gamers profit from the new technology. With SMP 4.0, a total of 16 viewports and two viewports can be rendered in one run. By using multiple viewports, the rendered image also comes with a smaller number of calculated pixels, which greatly improves VR performance.

The GeForce GTX 1070 is capable of transmitting 4K / ultra-HD resolutions at 60 Hertz over two DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0b ports, each of which is equipped with HDCP 2.2 to send and receive encrypted signals ( 4K Blu-Rays / 4K streams). Alternatively, the GTX 1070 has a DVI-D (dual-link) output.

In order to make full use of the card's full potential, new drivers from NVIDIA or ASUS should be downloaded and installed at regular intervals.
