The ASUS DSL-AC87VG is a VoiP modem router with dual band as well as four fixed and powerful 5dB antennas, which in combination with ultra-modern 802.11ac performance ensure very long range and extremely fast data transmissions. It is therefore predestined for streaming with resolutions of up to 4K Ultra-HD, as well as liquid and stable online gaming to a PC or console. The ASUS AiRadar's enhanced broadcasting power of the router is strong enough to provide medium-sized single-family homes with a fast Internet connection.

The dual-band capability also covers 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency operation at speeds of up to 600Mbps and 1,733Mbps, respectively, while the 2.4GHz frequency band is ideal for daily tasks such as Surfing the Internet and downloading files, and the 5 GHz frequency band for streaming multi-media content as well as other bandwidth-intensive applications.

The DSL-AC87VG has advanced VoIP features that enable the use of the router as a complete internet telephony system for the home. Up to 10 SIP-compatible VoIP accounts can be registered. Up to five cordless DECT phones can be connected to the integrated DECT base station and the two standard RJ11 interfaces can be connected to analog telephones or fax machines.

The ASUS DSL-AC87VG offers a higher performance and greater flexibility with two processors. While one processor optimizes wired network connections, the other is responsible for WLAN connections. The DSL-AC87VG can process up to 9 voice calls at the same time and also has an integrated answering machine with solid state memory.

Thanks to the user-friendly ASUSWRT interface, the installation and setting up of the modem router is child's play. In just three steps, the user can set up the modem router in 30 seconds using a smartphone, tablet or PC. Network entry-level users are particularly pleased with the ease of use. Network professionals also get their money's worth through features such as the download master, IPv6 support, the option for multiple SSIDs, and secure VPN access.

The RT-AC1300 can also be easily used as a media and device center. For this purpose, a USB 3.0 interface is available, which allows a convenient connection of printers, scanners, hard disks or other USB-compatible devices. With the ASUS DSL-AC87VG, it is also easy to set up a VPN server, which allows you to surf the Internet or access data, no matter where you are from.
