While the chipsets 100 series specifically for the core processors from the consumer segment of the sixth generation (Skylake ) have been developed, the C232 chipset is intended primarily for professional Xeon E3-1200 v5 models Skylake processor family, but also supports the core, Pentium and Celeron processors of the sixth generation.

As with the chipsets for mainstream and gaming motherboards, also benefits the C232 server chipset for Xeon processors of the many improvements that have been introduced with the Skylake processors.

So the C232 chipset next DDR3L RAM also supports the highly efficient DDR4 memory, the RAM in the fast dual-channel mode can be used.
